Since the 1970s the popularity of snowboarding has skyrocketed for two reasons. Firstly the boots are so much more comfy than ski boots and secondly... it fun!
Strap on the wrist guards, pull on a helmet and join the fun. If you want to progress quickly, pay for a couple of lessons. If you are not too bothered and just want to experience the thrill of snowboarding without the hassle, you can pick it up by watching others, but do expect to fall over quite a bit.
